The PhysioTouch machine helps breakdown scar tissue and fibrosis. Used in combination with MLD, and as an additional component of intensive DLT, the results for patients with chronic lymphoedema are usually visible after only one session. Reduction in tissue thickening and fibrosis is noticeable almost immediately. This small machine works on negative pressure – suction – with varying degrees of pressure.
There are also vibration settings which work on the different layers of tissues; from superficial, to deeper tissues. This helps break down any thickening and fibrosis, enabling better removal of fluid from the tissues.
